The installation is an interpretation of a city from Italo Calvano’s novel called Invisible Cities. Beersheba is one of the that is separated as below and above. The people in both cities never visit the other half of the city, but have an imagination in their mind that the other is no better than themselves. We interpreted this characteristic as a racial discrimination that is mentally exist in people’s minds. We judged other without seeing their true selves, even they are human like us. Reflection is used as a metaphor to reflect audience’s distorted self to portray that no matter how difference the person in the mirror is, one is as human as you are.
